Accidentally Wuthering Heights | Bridal styled shoot

Back in September, myself and my team created an unapologetically dramatic bridal editorial, which ended up being accidentally Wuthering Heights.

If you have seen the new movie by Emerald Fennell, you’ll see the link of the two - with bold silhouettes, dramatic veils + pops of red. I feel like these images provide a gentle nod towards that romantic and gothic aesthetic, but still with a modern, editorial elegance. A little bit of inspiration for the couples wanting to infuse some cinematic romance into their day.

The classic bridal look will always have its place, but we wanted to present something moodier.

For styling, Fiona from the Briderie presented structured silhouettes, off-the-shoulder bodices, dramatic bows, and layered tulle that moves like mist. This aesthetic feels raw and romantic, less polished ballroom, more windswept moorland. It’s emotional, atmospheric and intimate, and it photographs beautifully. Bold fashion elements creates a powerful, contemporary bridal look.

Windswept veils, sculptural gowns, and atmospheric portraits.

I shoot across so many venues that would complement this dramatic and cinematic bridal style. The venue is the back drop to your whole wedding day and in the UK, it’s quite easy to marry this (excuse the pun) into the rest of your day aesthetically.

  • Historic estates or manor houses - Firle House, Cowdray House, St Giles house,  Middleton Lodge, Babington House,

  • Stone churches or heritage venues

  • Neutral, light-filled interiors with tall windows

  • Open landscapes with wind and texture

  • Minimal, modern spaces with strong natural light. Incorporating draping.

The key is atmosphere. Look for depth, history, and natural light that shifts and wraps around you.

A blend of high-fashion bridal styling with timeless storytelling—perfect for the bride who wants something distinctive, artistic, and emotionally resonant.

The influence of literary romance and cinematic storytelling is reshaping modern bridal style. With bold silhouettes, soft light, and evocative movement, your wedding photographs can feel both contemporary and eternal.
